Halebidu
Halebidu Temple(Hoysaleshwara Temple) is another masterpiece by the great Hoysala Dynasty. Commissioned by Raja VishnuVardhana it is built on a large man made lake so it was previously called a Dwarasamudra.
Shettihalli Church
Shettihalli Church is around 20 km from our homestay. The Holy Rosary church built by the French missionaries is now submerged because of the Backwaters of hemavathi.
Belur
Not even a book is enough to explain about this place. Belur, then capital of the great Hoysala dynasty has a living temple dedicated to Chennakeshava.
Hemavati Dam
The hemavathi or Gorur dam is located at just 6KM from Our homestay. Built in the year 1979 across the river Hemavathi, the dam offers some breathtaking views during the rainy season.
Mavinakere
Mavinakere is just a small drive away from our homestay. The Lakshmi venkataramanaswamy Temple located on a small hillock offers stunning views of the paddy farms and the temple has a beautiful deity and offers a calm place to meditate and seek higher interests.
Mosale Temple
Another equally beautiful Chenakeshava Temple built by the Hoysalas is the Mosale Nagehvara-Chennakeshava temple which is just 10km away from our Homestay.
Ramanathapura
A town located around 38 km is on the Hassan-Somwarpet road. It is a noted centre of pilgrimage and has been called Dakshina Kashi. There are temples dedicated to Subramanya Swamy, Pattabi Ramachandra which is built in the Dravidian style.
Shravana Belgola
Located around 50 km from our Homestay, Shravanabelogola is one of the most important pilgrimage centres of Jains. The Shravanabelogola has twin rocky hillocks Vindyagiri and Chandragiri.
